Tesla autopilot is pretty great. You hop in the car, click in your seatbelt, tap the screen, and off you go. You can go to most places in North America without intervention. There are 4 modes – Sloth, Standard, Hurry, and Mad Max — which you can choose between based on your AI risk tolerance.
Teslas are lame, nobody likes people that drive them. But they make sense. Electricity is cheaper than gas, they’ll finance the car for 1%, and no oil changes. But not everyone has a Tesla. In fact, most people don’t have a Tesla.
The coolest people drive the most inefficient cars. Range Rovers that break down every thousand miles, Porches without airbags, and even those ugly Volkswagon Vans. These idiots fill up with premium gas, pay a pretty penny for spare parts that need to be shipped from Germany, and have the audacity to pollute our planet.
But these idiots are the best people in the world and the most fun to be around. They’re passionate, knowledgeable, and dare I say artistic. Because doing the thing that doesn’t make sense is what makes us human. Doing things just cause. “Eh the Tesla makes sense, but fuck it let’s get the Corvette instead”. That’s the guy I wanna hang out with, the one whose car gets 12 miles per gallon.
